The Seeger High School Auditorium is a new
1,500-seat performing arts theatre for MSD of
Warren County, built as an addition to the Seeger
Jr/Sr High School. The school had been utilizing
a multipurpose “cafetorium” space for many
years, which could no longer handle attendee
counts and performance requirements. The
new auditorium includes a flexible stage and
orchestra pit to accommodate a variety of
group sizes and performance types, including
professional traveling shows. Back of house
support spaces include the green room,
restroom, and locker room spaces, as well as
a connection to the existing cafetorium space
to serve as an prep and storage space before
events. While the new auditorium provides a
much-needed space for performing arts classes
at the high school, it is also a new community
asset, as it is the largest preforming arts space
in the area. The exterior façade is designed
to complement the existing campus through
the use of color and strong horizontal lines, but
also creates a contemporary stand-out piece.
The interior design makes use of school colors,
but mutes them to give a more serious feel to
the auditorium. The seating can be divided in
half to create a more intimate space for small
performances. The back stage of the auditorium
is equipped with dressing rooms, a green
room, and space for the future scenery shop.
